Brainwashing!!

Ben is trying to corrupt my sweet little girl and turn her into a LAKERS FAN! I cannot let this happen. This is how they spent their "bonding time" last night.

Luckily, she can't see that far yet so she sort of looked around for something more interesting. (That's my girl!)

Bad Habits

I am not a nail biter. I never have been. I actually used to wish that I was because all my friends did it, but I just couldn't stomach it. Ben bites his nails when he's watching sports (weird, I know). Tyler bites all of his nails except his ring finger. I have to cut it every once in a while, but he keeps the other ones nice and short. I know, I should discourage him from doing it, but I never really cared if he bites his nails or not... until today. I walked into the family room and saw him biting his nails. Unfortunately, he wasn't biting his FINGERnails. Eww. Toenail biting is just too gross. Especially since the bottom of his feet are all dirty from playing outside this morning. Double eww. The worst part is that he wanted me to make a movie of him biting his toenails. So, here it is for everyone to see what a gross little boy I have. He even admits that it's yucky, but he does it anyway. It must be a boy thing (sort of like "pull my finger" and armpit noises).

Also, I would like to pledge my love to my jeans. I will never take you for granted again. You may not be name brand and they aren't exactly high fashion, but I love them nonetheless. There is something wonderful about buttoning and zipping a pair of jeans. Elastic waistbands SUCK. I love my jeans and I want to wear them every single day for the rest of my life. I am wearing real jeans again for the first time in many, many moons. I cannot tell you all how wonderful it feels to wear real people clothes again! I am a very happy girl. :-)

Photo Shoot

So, Victoria is a whopping 10 days old today so I thought we would celebrate with some new pictures of her. It's amazing how fast babies change! I feel like I've missed a phase of her development if I don't take a picture of her every day. Don't worry, I won't burden you with pictures of her every single day, but here's a few cute ones from tonight.

Tyler and Nicole have such amazingly dark brown eyes, is there any way at all that this little one could have blue eyes? Please say yes.

She really doesn't like the flash, but she loves the blankets so I think she forgave me for taking the pictures. :-)

No time

When I'm not nursing or pumping I'm running around trying to get stuff done before it's time to pump or nurse again! I have pretty much decided that I would like to get another set of arms. Does anyone know a good doctor? Trying to make lunch, bounce a baby, and get a little boy ready for preschool is no easy task. I haven't even been able to get on the computer for 3 days! I decided to multi-task today and pump while checking everyone's blogs. I'm sure this was only possible because Tyler's at preschool and Nicole and Tori are asleep. Thank heaven for small favors. I have to get ready for my massage appointment (yay for me! thanks mom!) but here's a few pictures from this last week.

Tyler's photography skills.

My baby is a pirate.

And she likes to eat her hand.

The kids have matching beds now and they love it!

Resisting the Urge

I have this nasty habit of chopping off all my hair either just prior to having a baby or just after. I regretted it both times. When you're a new mom, the ponytail can be your best friend. I pretty much live in a ponytail. I see women with short hair and I think to myself, "what is the point of having long hair if I keep it back all the time? I should just chop it off." It makes sense at the time. Then after cutting it, I realize that with short hair (especially when it's curly like mine) you actually have to DO your hair every single day. That is why a ponytail rocks. So please, if I mention to you that I'm feeling the urge to cut my hair, remind me that I'm a complete idiot and I should just leave it alone.
ps. I have lost 18 lbs in the last 6 days. That makes up for being so uncomfortable for the last several months!!

I laughed hard at this one.

Okay, this has nothing to do with anything, but for those of you who may have seen this video at some point, need to see the response to it made by TNT last night. Watch Kobe's first....

Fake, but cool nonetheless. Now watch the response to it. A tiny bit of backstory; the TNT guys were interviewing Kobe Bryant after the game, and told him that while they thought his jumping over an Aston Martin in Kobe's new shoes was neat, Kenny Smith made a video with Kenny's new shoes.

Well, I thought it was funny at least. Maybe it's because I watched it at 1:00 am. Who knows.

Baby Serenade

I thought this was the sweetest thing I'd ever seen, so I quickly grabbed the camera and caught him on the second go-round. He calls the ukelele a "uka lady" which makes it even cuter. The kids love their new baby sister and it's nice for me because I can get them to do anything (put away toys, eat dinner, stop fighting) and their reward is to hold the baby! Way better than sugary snacks.
