Haven't Posted in a While

I thought I would post some current pictures of the kids, mostly because I think they look older than they really are. Granted, in another year, I will look at these pictures and think that they look like infants. Tori, of course IS an infant so......yeah, not sure what to think of that.

Sometimes the only way we can calm Tori down is to bury her in blankets, pillows, etc. Then we turn on the obnoxious music from her swing and she is happy. Don't ask because I don't understand either.

I think Nicole looks like she is 5 years old in this picture, when in actuality she is only 2 and a half! She seems older to us than she is I think because she has been talking for forever and has been potty trained for a while now. Yeah, she is going to be more trouble than she is worth I think. I'm mostly kidding of course.

Our cheesy little boy. His new favorite activity is to go on a bike ride with me as soon as I get home from work. He rides his little bike and I tow Nicole on my bike. We go 4 laps around our circle which is actually a 1 mile bike ride. I thought that seems like a lot for a little boy's legs, but then I remembered that he is just that. A little boy who doesn't know any better.

My huge baby

Oh my heck. I have a huge kid. I mean, seriously, look at those cheeks! I went to playgroup today and it hit me just how big my baby is. I was pregnant at the same time as several of my friends and now we all have little babies. It is fun to see how different babies can be. One of my friends -- we'll call her "Kim"-- had a baby just 4 days before Victoria was born. She took her baby in for her 2 month check up today and she weighed just over 11 pounds. I weighed Victoria today and she weighs about 15 pounds! She is gigantic! I don't know how long she is, but everyone who sees her agrees that she looks abnormally long. I can't wait to take her to the doctor next week so I can see just how huge she is. It's kind of fun having such a big baby because she sleeps really well (yesterday she slept for 13 hours straight!) and everyone is shocked when they see how big she is. But, at the same time, I am sad because she's getting big so fast! This is our last baby and I want her to stay little for a long time so I can satisfy my "baby hunger" and won't want to get pregnant again in 6 months. Life is hard with a 4 year old, 2 year old, and a baby so it seems like my life will get easier as she gets older. But still, I love little, tiny babies.

I am utterly depressed.

Not that any of you care, but if you happen to talk to me today, or tomorrow, or maybe even Sunday, if I seem a bit down, don't worry, it's not entirely your fault. Allow me to explain.

Well, there is not much to explain. The Lakers choked away a 24 point lead last night in the Finals against Boston. In L.A.'s defense, I guess it is hard to win when you're playing with your hands wrapped around your own throat, but I digress.

It is a little weird how much this is bothering me. They have lost games before, lost in the playoffs, got beaten in the Finals, and have even missed the playoffs entirely. When those things happened I was not happy, but it took me about 3.72354 seconds to get over it. Not this time though!

For example, literally the first thought that popped into my head this morning when I woke up was, "I can't believe they lost that game!" How bizarre is that? I normally listen to sports talk radio at my desk all day, and have been known to peruse ESPN.com on occassion. But I just can't bring myself to do either today! And I know I won't be watching SportsCenter until Sunday at the earliest and that is only if the Lakers manage to pull their heads out of their, uh, (can I say rectal cavity or is that too gross?) rear ends and win on Sunday.

I can't believe how bitter/saddened I am by this development; I am not used to these feelings, and therefore do not deal with them very well, so bear with me as I navigate this uncharted (for me) territory.

Because It's Funny

Wow, I am not exactly sure how I found this today, but I thought it was quite entertaining. Turns out it was hard to watch whilst at work trying not to laugh out loud, so instead I kept it in, and my face (probably) turned red, and periodically I emitted this sound that sounds like "Pfffft" as air escaped my lips no matter how hard I tried to prevent it. Yeah, that probably made it funnier to me than it is, but either way, enjoy if you so choose.

We're bad parents

So, I'm pretty sure that my son should be singing the itsy bitsy spider or something sweet and innocent, but this is what he hears when mommy's cleaning the house, so this is what he's learning. After you watch the video you'll see why I'm switching to instrumental music. But I still think this is freaking hilarious and I don't feel too bad about it. For those of you who don't automatically recognize the song, it's Get Low by Flo Rida. Here's the words that he's attempting to sing:

Shawty had them apple bottom jeans (jeans) Boots with the fur (with the fur) The whole club was looking at her She hits the floor (she hits the floor) Next thing you know Shawty got low, low, low, low, low, low, low, low Them baggy sweat pants And the Reebok's with the straps (with the straps) She turned around and gave that big booty a smack (hey) She hits the floor (she hits the floor) Next thing you know Shawty got low, low, low, low, low, low, low, low

I hate dieting... a lot

Okay, so I had a baby 7 weeks ago and I got the go ahead from my doctor, so I'm officially trying to get my pre-baby body back. Yuck. I hate this part. I guess the good news is that we're done having kids so I don't have to lose pregnancy weight again. I lost 2/3 of the weight I gained in the first 2 weeks but that last 10 pounds is sticking to me like white on rice. I have an XBox game that lets me work out with a virtual personal trainer and she kicked my trash today! 45 minutes with someone who doesn't get tired is rough. But really, the exercise part is okay. I always feel better when I'm working out regularly so I don't mind that part so much. It's the dieting that kills me. To say that I hate dieting is an understatement. Who wants to eat salad for dinner every night? Sometimes I like to eat until I can barely move and then just lay on the couch for an hour. Am I the only one? I know my brothers like to do that too, but maybe that's not a normal girl thing. Ben very delicately asked me if I wanted help and encouragement with my diet. (He lost a TON of weight last year and looks amazing now.) I politely declined, but when he offered me the bag of Cheetos last night, I thought, "maybe I should have taken him up on his offer." I love to eat! Seriously! I am starving right now (I had two little bran muffins and a glass of water for breakfast before my workout. That's not nearly enough food for me. I like to have eggs, hashbowns, and toast for breakfast!) I see these commercials for appetite suppresants and I have a hard time not running to the store right then and there to get some. I keep telling myself that I just need to have some self control, but let's not kid ourselves here, I don't have any. Just ask my brother-in-law. Nevermind, don't. (he is single handedly trying to sabotage my diet. Evil, Zach, evil.) So, I'm doing my best. If you see me stuffing my face with junk food, don't judge me. I'm just having a hard day. :-)

Here's a cute picture of the kids to brighten your day!

Imagination can be a killer

Okay, so my kids are really getting good at using their imagination. They play with imaginary animals a lot. The current favorite is the pretend Pygmy Marmoset. (For those of you who don't watch Go, Diego, Go, a pygmy marmoset is a small monkey.) Right now they are playing with imaginary lightsabers. Unfortunately, we apparently only have one imaginary lightsaber. I kid you not, they are fighting over something that doesn't exist. It is an imaginary toy and it is invisible and they can't touch it, but they are still fighting over it. Wow. Only my kids could come up with something like that. Believe it or not, most of the time they get along quite well! In the small amount of time it took to type this, they have since resolved the issue by putting the imaginary lightsaber in the refrigerator because, obviously, it was getting too hot. I'm telling you, I'm not creative enough to make this stuff up so it has to be true. Now they are playing "pelota"--which is spanish for "ball" for those of you who don't regularly watch Dora the Explorer. See, who says kids tv isn't educational? What will these little rascals think up next?
